Please help our Destination Imagination Team - The Random Socks - go to the Global Finals in Knoxville, TN this May. Six 7th/8th graders have been competing for months and have successfully placed in the Regional and State competitions to earn a coveted spot at the Globals. Less than 10% of the over 3,000 DI teams in Texas have earned a spot to compete against more than 1,300 teams from 45 states, 7 Canadian provinces and 13 other countries. This is an extraordinary accomplishment!
Destination Imagination (DI) is a creative problem solving competition supported by schools across the globe that strives to promote creativity in the young people who participate. More than 100,000 students across the U.S.and in more than 30 countries participate each year in DI, experiencing creativity and teamwork in three challenge levels. At the start of the season, teams choose one of seven challenges. After weeks spent creating, developing and practicing their solutions, they go to a local tournament. Top-scoring teams advance to state or country tournaments. The top level of the tournament is the Global Finals"”the culminating event of every Destination Imagination season.
Our team has successfully been in the top tier at their Regional and State levels and have now been selected to participate in the Global Finals to be held May 21-25 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Attending Global Finals is a once in a lifetime opportunity for our students. They will be rewarded with the opportunity to present their solutions, attend workshops, socialize and learn with children from around the world.
