Ralph Martini: Cancer Fundraiser
My name is Carol Lowrey and I am campaigning for my brother-in-law Ralph Martini. Ralph is a man after God’s heart. He is kind, humble, reverent, respectful, trusting, repentant, devoted, and faithful. He knows the Word and does his best to live his life in harmony with his beliefs. He is precious and dearly loved by all of his family and friends.
Why We Are Asking You To Support Ralph
”Ralphie”, as he is affectionately known, has been a self-employed masonry contractor for over 40 years. He is an artist at laying stone and loves to tell others with a huge smile “I get to go to work today!” Ironically, working in the sun all these years has taken a devasting toll on his skin. In December 2017 Ralph was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma that has metastasized through the parotid gland. He will undergo radical surgery at USC Keck on February 2, 2018 to remove the cancerous tumor that has spread to the nerves, bone, and lymph nodes on the left side of his face and neck. The surgery includes removal of facial nerves, nerve grafting, a mastoidectomy, and facial reconstruction. There will be three surgeons performing the surgery. He is expected to be hospitalized for a week, if all goes well. From there he will undergo rehabilitation, therapy to assist him with paralysis on the left side of his face, and radiation. He is under the best of care under the circumstances, which is a blessing.

My family and I have created this Go Fund Me account for Ralphie to raise money for him to pay his medical and prescription drug deductibles, traveling expenses (USC Keck is a 4-hour drive one way from his residence), medical supplies, and loss of income. Our goal is to raise $15,000. If you wish to help support Ralph financially, your donations are greatly appreciated. If you are unable to support him financially, we greatly appreciate your prayers. Sharing this campaign with people you know is also another way to help support Ralphie. To help me get the word out, you can share my link to your Facebook Timeline and any other social media.
How It Works
In general, donations to Ralph will be a personal gift between family and friends. Donors are not charged a fee. Donors are charged only the amount they choose to donate, and may donate anonymously. There is a $5 minimum donation. Any donations collected through the Go Fund Me campaign will be transferred directly to Ralph. Please be aware that if you decide to donate, the Go Fund Me site has a section after the donation amount where Go Fund Me asks for a tip, which is currently preset at 15%. If you do not wish to add a tip you must change the preset option to “other” and enter a $0.00 amount.

If you want to make a donation, please go to Ralph’s Go Fund Me campaign, click on the link that I sent you and click on “Donate Now.” You will be provided quick and easy step by step instructions. It is an amazingly simple process. You DO NOT need to set up an account with Go Fund Me to donate.
