Hi! Jamie Wilding (of St. Louis, MO) here, sister-in-law to Melissa and Chris Mitchell... reaching out to the masses with the intent to help our family from afar.

Most of you are aware of Hurricane Maria and the effect it had on the Caribbean; however, the media is favoring coverage on damages in Puerto Rico, all the while the Virgin Islands have suffered mass devastation as well.

As many of you know, Melissa and Chris live in St. Croix (of the Virgin Islands). Their home and [new] restaurant, Fusions, were demolished by Maria (and Irma). Melissa, Chris, and their kin are all philanthropic folks. Just before Irma blasted them, they were busy putting together "Grab 'n' Go" lunchboxes to help their brothers and sisters in St John and St Thomas.

Now they need our help.

As you can tell from the images, there is a lot of work to be done.

The intent of this GoFundMe is to raise monies to help get Melissa and Chris' home and restaurant (livelihood) back up and running so those two can get back to normalcy and doing what they love; supporting their #VIStrong neighbors. This includes, but is not limited to: roofing and building materials, water purifiers, tarps, bug spray, and resources necessary to sustain temporary power until the Island is able to fully restore permanent power (batteries, means of solar charging, gas for generators, etc.). Please note that much of these resources will be used by several locals, so your donations will be beneficial to multiple parties affected by the hurricanes. All raised monies will be distributed to my father-in-law, Michael Wilding, of St. Louis MO to use for purchase/shipping of the aforementioned supplies and resources.

Anything not used by Melissa and Chris directly will be going back to the community of St. Croix for basic-life-needs like bug spray, general hygiene products, and more.

Fun fact: Even though their restaurant is missing half its roof, they moved the dining room outdoors and are offering warm meals and (well deserved) drinks to locals, and charging stations too!
