Roaring Fork High School Model UN

Donation protected
Roaring Fork High School students are preparing to step beyond our mountain valley to better understand our world through the 2017 National High School Model United Nations in New York City this March. Currently, a select group of 24 of fantastic sophomores, juniors and seniors are crafting position papers on key challenges facing our globe through the lens of Botswana! Model United Nations (MUN) is a student simulation of the proceedings of the United Nations. Students, referred to as Delegates, are assigned a country to represent in one of the UN’s numerous committees with pre-set topics to debate. They research the background of their country, their country's position on the topics at hand, and prepare notes on possible solutions to the problems faced. Much like the real UN, the goal is to identify solutions, by negotiation and consensus, on which many countries can agree.

So many students have already been hard at work babysitting, planning fun activities, and working to pay for this amazing opportunity. But we need as much help as we can get. For some students this will be their first opportunity to visit such an international city for such an international experience.  And donate to support their trip, led by three fantastic Roaring Fork High School educators - Matt Wells, Kelsie Goodman, & Lyn Williams. These amazing students need your support for airline tickets and hotel expenses. Thank you!
