REF-ing it up for PUERTO RICO

Donation protected
Puerto Rico , "La Isla del Encanto", was recently hit by two hurricanes: Irma and Maria.

Maria, a Category 4 hurricane, hit Puerto Rico with sustained winds of 155 miles per hour.  In hours this natural phenomenon changed the life of the Puerto Ricans.

The visuals on social networks and on television are heartbreaking.

Many have lost everything.  For most to learn to live without water, without light, or both, is unfortunately necessary.  Rowing for hours to try to buy gas, ice, food, basics, is currently normal.  We lost more than 36 lives, directly and indirectly, some because they simply did not have access to, or could not go out to receive needed medical treatments like dialysis.

Many of you have visited Puerto Rico, either to vacation or to referre. Right now everything changed! Many sports facilities disappeared, and others, suffered great damages.

That is why fellow NCAA referee Josué Nieves and I are opening this account to help our compatriots in Puerto Rico. Our families are fine, but others will need a lot of help to recover.

We sincerely thank you for your contribution.
