I've served in music ministry practically all of my life from singing background to leads/solos, to directing to recording, to overseeing an entire music and fine arts department. Leading worship has had it's highs and lows which causes me to share what I’ve learned. One of the highs is to watch those I lead grow in their relationship with God as they better understand the central idea of worship.
Overseeing the department, I periodically hold a session called “Praise & Worship 101.” This training was originally designed for those leading worship, but now extends from the stage to the congregation. Here, I provide a fundamental perspective in praise and worship that keeps the focus on God.
In 2015 I began writing a manuscript with this information in an effort to help up and coming worship leaders in our church. Before I knew it, a book took form. While in the process I decided to make it a product not just for worship leaders, singers and those in the music department, but also for the congregant.
R.A.W. - The Basics is the first installment of a 3 part worship series. It was written with great ease and enlightenment, and was officially completed in February 2016.
In talking with other authors and industry professionals, I’ve decided to self publish this book with a release date sometime in late spring/early summer 2016. While this option makes more sense in the long run, it requires more up front funding to pay for things like editing, mass production, distribution, marketing, promotions, and all the things associated with self publishing until the right publishing deal comes along. Currently the projected cost to fund this project is $6,000. This is all just a leap of faith toward something I believe will hold long lasting impact for worship leaders and those who desire to gain understanding in this area.
Every $50 donation or greater will receive an autographed copy of R.A.W. - The Basics, and an exclusive R.A.W. The Basics promotional item as a keepsake AT the official book signing and celebration scheduled for late Spring 2016 in Richmond, Virginia.
