RALLY SUPPORT FOR MY DAD

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Britney Masewicz the daughter of Randall Draheim; my dad is a retired Navy vet of 23 years and is a fantastic dad/husband/brother/grandpa. On Aug 28th, 2012 my dad was working for The Home Depot when he had a seizure at work, an ambulance rushed him to the hospital, where they did some tests and we found out he has a stage 4 brain cancer called glioblastoma (GBM). I couldn’t believe my dad has cancer! He had brain surgery two days later to remove the tumor in his brain and when he came out of surgery the doctor told us they were able to remove most of the tumor but it came at a cost. My dad is now paralyzed on his whole left side and now is disabled, wheelchair bound and totally dependent on someone always to be there with him. He has since received two more surgeries to install a shunt to control the pressure on his brain and alleviate pain. It’s very hard to see him this way as my dad loved to fish and hunt along with all the stuff guys like to do that live in Wisconsin. He’s now unable to do even the simple things unless he has help. My mom had to quit her job of running a daycare in our home to take on the role as caregiver for my dad. She has been there 24/7 to give him meds, baths, running to appointments along with dealing with seizures and emergency room trips. However, without their normal income my parents are struggling to make ends meet. It’s been almost 2 years since this incident started and my dad is still receiving chemo treatments every other week and is constantly in and out of the hospital. Now my mom is forced to go back to work and I am not really sure where that is going to leave my dad, probably with outside help. My parents are constantly struggling to pay their bills, especially there electric bill. We had a very cold winter last year (2013) and now my mom and dad still have to pay almost $600 a month to try and keep up with this one bill not to mention others. On top of that the landlord raised their rent $120 a month starting September 1st. I do what I can, but I am only 22 years old, making minimum wage, with a 6 month old baby so I really can’t help them myself other than emotional support. But I can ask for help from my family and friends to get the word out that my parents are the most loving people you will ever meet, and I would do anything to help them in any way I can. So that is why I am here today to ask for help for a couple who really love each other and are truly blessed to have each other through this whole situation. I know my dad feels safe when my mom’s around and I don’t want him to have to lose that feeling should she have to be away from him working to pay the bills. So I am asking for any kind of donation that will help get my parents back on a better road and so my mom can continue to be his caregiver. I hate to see my mom so stressed out about these bills when all she wants to do is love and care for my dad. I appreciate your taking the time to read this and thank you for any contribution you can give. Please share with your family and friends as cancer does not discriminate and affects us all. God bless.
