Quwane's Victory Over Stroke

Hi!
I'm Amira. My brother Quwane aka Q Rock bka Gemini suffered a series of strokes, both hemorrhaging and clotting. Although just two weeks ago, it seems like it's been an eternity. Despite attempts to lead a healthy lifestyle by exercising, becoming a pescetarian, & managing diabetes, he unknowingly suffered from hypertension.
Since the strokes, I've spent the last 9 days in a Manhattan hospital watching my brother fight. He's been fighting to regain consciousness, fighting to increase his cognition, and fighting to communicate. As you may know, strokes can leave individuals with permanent impairments that can render them permanently disabled. Well, I serve a God who is able to do ALL things and I trust in my Heavenly Father to restore my brother's mind, body, and speech!
He's currently in an acute rehabilitation facility. The doctors were honest with me and said this is a long road, at least 6 months of therapy and relearning the normal stuff that we take for granted.
My brother does have some level of healthcare coverage, but as we all know, it won't cover all of his needs to help restore him to pre-stroke normalcy or enable me to get him closer to his support system.
A huge part of his recovery has been attributed to family and friends being present. Our family is scattered throughout the U.S. It has been difficult on myself and Aunty Wanda as we are the closest to NYC. If you've traveled lately, you'll know that train/airfare and a Manhattan hotel can be extremely costly. We've spent more than $1500.00 in 9 days to be there for him and provide the little things, like television service in his room ($5.50/day).
If you know him, then like me, you want to hear him sing again, you want to see him laugh again, you want to hear him tell jokes, you want to see him dance again, you want to see his smile. If you're like me then you'd want family by your side to support you. If you know Jesus, pray for him and pray for our family too.
