Education Fund for Quincey’s Girls

Doação protegida
I write this tonight for my friend Quincey. She has been through hell the past three years after being diagnosed with cervical cancer. The details are painful and overwhelmingly heartbreaking. She has won victories and suffered dissapointments in her fight. Her biggest triumph is that she has been here with us much longer than any doctor ever expected. But her most devasting disappointment and reality is that she won't be here with us much longer.
They called in Hospice for Quincey back in November. She spent the holidays at home, surrounded by her family resting in a room her amazing and loving husband, Brian, created for her to be as comfortable as possible during this impossible time. Everyone hopes Quincey defies the odds and lives for years to come, but the sad and unfair truth is she has already been here for a year longer than the doctors predicted.
When I visited Quincey,  she knew that she would not be around to see her daughters grow up. In my arms, she cried and tearfully asked, “Please take care of my girls.”
She told me how she thought when she had Ellery  and Auden, like most moms do, that she would be here to shape and to guide them through life. She feels her biggest pain of all from that - the effects of the cancer are nothing in comparison. She never wanted to let them down by missing a moment of their lives.
It tore my heart to pieces.
Everyone knows Quincey as a smart, powerful and incredibly intelligent mother. She and Brian have created the most amazing childhood for their daughters. Even after living  through three years of watching their mom fight cancer and grow  weaker each day, they still have their spunk and wit and zany strong personalities. Brian is the absolute greatest support system anyone could ever ask for. He will undoubtedly continue to make beautiful lives for their girls,  but it won’t be easy for him.

I started this Gofundme account because I would raise millions of dollars to change the course of Quincey’s health, but since no dollar amount can do that, I want to pave the way for six year old Auden and eight year old Ellery to have long and successful lives.  Quincey is a teacher and education is of paramount importance to her. Her wish for her daughters  is to have them enrolled in private school from grades 6-12 and of course attend and graduate college. It will be no small undertaking to finance private education for two girls, so I created this page to assist with the education costs of Auden and Ellery.
When you ask yourself over and over what you can do to help Quincey's family when they are going through the most impossible situation imaginable... this is it.
While it feels completely helpless to watch the powerful Wonder Woman that Quincey has always been fade as the days go by, there is some very small reassurance in knowing that her superpowers will live on in her girls.

Together, we can help fulfill Quincey’s desire for her girls to get the best education possible and become strong educated women like their mother.

We can show Quincey that she has left an irreplaceable mark on our lives and that her village will band together and will forever be around to take care of her little Wonder Women.

Your contributions are so appreciated and will be bright spots in the days to come for Quincey, Brian and the girls.

Thank you for your love and support,

Elena Wagner on behalf of Quincey, Brian,  Auden and Ellery Upshaw
