Project Bruhnicorn

So, here's the big long story. Quite a while ago Sharon had issues with stomach pain. Like really big time pain and it was discovered that she had what was called a "stricture" at the end of her stomach. Essentially very little food or water was making it down to her intestines, and she was in big danger. So, she with insurance in hand she had surgery done to correct this problem, and she recovered from this very potentially fatal issue. Good right?

Well, yes and no. While she did recover, and while Insurance paid, they then REVERSED their decision and pulled their payment. It turns out that despite the medical necessity of this procedure, and despite the physician billing the procedure as medically necessary, her insurance company noted that there was an exception to her coverage that allowed them to not pay.

So the upshot to all of this? We are on the hook for a medical bill that's on the order of $20,000.00. Yeah. I don't know about you, but I don't have an extra 20k just you know, gathering dust in the corner.


So, I'm reaching out to you friends. I'm starting a campaign to help chip away at this dauntingly huge bill and I am asking if you would please help out. I'm sorry if this big project is disappointing, but I'll try to make it fun. In addition to gathering regular donations (thank you in advance) I'll post up awesome things that you can bid on. If the weird and unexpected happens and we exceed the 20k we need to fight this, all the rest of the money will go to a charity that we'll all decide on together. Thanks for reading this far.
