#PrayingForKeith Medical Fund

My heart is heavy as I write this and I find it hard to begin. In life, it seems we take so many things for granted, especially time, which is so precious and one of the things we do not value enough. My Daddy gave me all his time and more, not only me, but all of those around him. He has always done more for others than he has done for himself. I will never be able to repay my father for all the good he has done, but I can try by making sure that he puts himself first now.

On Saturday February 21st, my Daddy went to the emergency room thinking he had the stomach flu after not feeling well for 5 days. Upon his arrival to ER, they immediately knew it was more than that and he was admitted into the hospital. On Sunday morning at 6:00 a.m., my father stopped breathing and was unresponsive and was rushed to the ICU where he was told his kidneys were rapidly failing and they did not know why. I was unable to speak to him all day and when I called the Hospital, they wouldn't give me any details due to the privacy laws. The only thing I was told was that "If he makes it through the night, that will be good." You could only imagine how this made me feel, especially with my father being over 1,000 miles away in another state. See, my father was out of town on a business trip in Kentucky, so I felt so completely helpless.

Presently, my Daddy is in ICU at Owensboro Regional Hospital where they preform dialysis on him daily and my mother has traveled to be by his side. Unfortunately, my parents do not have insurance and my father is a contract worker -- so when he does not work, he is unable to get paid. With my mother being there in Kentucky instead of Houston, she is unable to work as well. During all of this, my father's medical bills are piling up from being in the hospital and ICU for the past five days. The financial road ahead is uncertain for my parents, as we find out if my father can even return to work. I am humbly asking for donations to help with the rapidly growing medical and daily living expenses. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
