Please support us in bringing Sergio home

My brother Sérgio passed away on March 9, 2024, victim of a heart attack, in Cabo Verde. As a person, Sérgio was fantastic, a lover of his beloved football club FC Porto, a fan of the band U2, a dedicated father to his 3 children, a husband for over 40 years, and a lover of his pastry shop. Unfortunately, the procedures for repatriating Sérgio's body amount to over €6500. The Portuguese state does not support in this type of situation; there is a gap in the law that does not provide for state support in the repatriation of bodies to Portugal as well as for the funeral arrangements; causing families to face logistical and financial difficulties.

At the request of the family and considering it is a very large financial operation, and given that the Portuguese state does not support, we hereby request the support of all those who can help bring Sérgio home; to be with his family; so they can say their goodbyes. In this regard, we request your support; we are raising funds to bring Sérgio back home; there is a shortfall of €3000, any contribution will help the family.

O meu irmão Sérgio faleceu no dia 9 de março de 2024, vítima de ataque cardíaco, em Cabo Verde. Como pessoa o Sérgio era fantástico, amante do seu clube do coração FC Porto, amante da banda U2, um pai dedicado aos 3 filhos, marido por mais de 40 anos; e amante da sua pastelaria.Infelizmente as diligências para a transladação do corpo do sérgio, ascende a mais de 6500€. O estado portugues não apoia neste tipo de situação; existe um vazio na lei que não prevê o apoio por parte do estado na transladação de corpos para portugal assim como para a realização do funeral; fazendo com que as famílias sintam dificuldades logísticas e financeiras.

A pedido da família e por se tratar de uma operação financeira muito grande, e tendo em conta que o estado português não apoia/suporta, vimos por este meio solicitar o apoio de todos aqueles que podem ajudar a trazer o Sérgio para casa; para junto da sua família; para que se possam despedir.

Nesse sentido, solicitamos o vosso apoio; estamos a realizar uma angariação de fundos para trazer o sergio de volta a casa; estão em falta 3.000 euros, qualquer contribuição ajudará a família.

Dessverre beløper prosedyrene for å repatriere Sérgios kropp seg til over 6500 €. Den portugisiske staten støtter ikke i denne typen situasjoner; det er et gap i loven som ikke gir støtte fra staten for repatriering av kropper til Portugal samt for begravelsesarrangementer; noe som fører til at familier står overfor logistiske og økonomiske vanskeligheter.

På forespørsel fra familien og med tanke på at det er en veldig stor økonomisk operasjon, og gitt at den portugisiske staten ikke støtter, ber vi herved om støtte fra alle som kan hjelpe med å bringe Sérgio hjem; for å være sammen med familien sin; slik at de kan ta farvel.
