Help keep Jazz alive in Harlem at Room 623!

Don protégé

Room 623, Harlem’s Speakeasy Jazz Club first opened its doors in April 2019…when veteran Jazz singer, songwriter and entrepreneur, Marcus Goldhaber presented owner/restaurateur & Harlem native, Adriane Ferguson with the concept of converting her private event space into a Jazz club.

The Mission:
To create a positive, diverse and inclusive space to celebrate immersive live Jazz and Jazz history!

After several pandemic related closings & reopenings, the doors have now remained consistently open for almost 2 years, but we need your help to make sure we can stay open and continue to help revitalize the legendary Jazz scene in Harlem.

To continue this mission...we are looking to engage our community, both locally and beyond, to help support the relaunch of our cozy subterranean den of Jazz joy!

(Jeremiah Flack)

How Can You Help?

We’re asking for a contribution at ANY level to help us further our mission and ensure the legacy of Harlem Jazz can thrive for generations to come! We are also asking everyone here to tell at least 5 people about our campaign.
*See below for some text you can simply copy and paste to share with your friends.

Among our many goals, we are currently looking to expand our programming, increase our artist fees and strengthen our marketing capabilities.

How will your donation be used?

We needed to launch this campaign to help take Room 623 to the next level and ensure that we'll be able to keep Jazz alive in Harlem at Room 623 for generations to come! Here's a breakdown of our current goals:

Expanded Programming
  • Open more nights of the week
  • Add new recurring series to our calendar
  • Launch an educational component

Extended Outreach
  • Social media
  • Publicist
  • Marketing & promotion

Increased Artist Fees
  • allow us to bring in a wider range of talent
  • allow musicians to bring in larger bands

Capital Improvements
  • improve guest entrance
  • improve guest seating
  • improve our exterior visibility

We have also just been gifted a brand new acoustic upright piano!! This will significantly elevate and further legitimize our presence as Harlem’s Speakeasy Jazz Club. In addition to being a deeply impactful asset, having an acoustic piano will also come with essential costs for tuning, upkeep, maintenance and exciting new programming, allowing us to feature some of the greatest pianists on the scene today!

Your support in reaching these goals will help us attract a growing number of artists & patrons, help keep our doors open indefinitely and greatly improve the overall experience of our customers and musicians.

If you've been to Room 623, you know the vibe we offer is positive, healing, diverse, inclusive and SWINGIN'! Inspired by the "legacy clubs" of the past, our goal is to honor that history, while celebrating what Jazz is now, what it is becoming and hold space for us all to come together and find our collective common ground through live music.
