It is with great sadness that I announce the death of my beloved uncle Peter Wanga Odinga, brother to my mother, Dr. Agnes Odinga and three other siblings. Peter perished in a road accident on the evening of Monday, October 2, 2017 along Mariwa-Awendo Road in Migori County, Kenya. His untimely death at such a young age has shocked many and left us with profound sorrow and a deep wound in our hearts.
Those who knew Peter will attest to his humility, kind nature and love for others. Peter was a devoted father to his four kids, (Molex, Lydia, Phanidia and Fiona). He is survived by his wife, their four children, his mother, and four siblings.
Peter was a hard-working man and the sole bread winner for his family. Like many rural inhabitants in Migori County, he survived on sugar cane farming, a small business and miscellaneous money generating activities. Proceeds from these activities paid school fees for his four children at Rapogi Girls Boarding school and St. Anne Academy. To compound this loss, the children’s mother has a long term debilitating illness, making her unable to support them on her own.
We are seeking your assistance to ensure Molex and his sisters remain in school without interruption in order to achieve their dream of an education. The death of their father has left them in a delicate situation.
We hope you can join us in helping Molex and his sisters move from one grade to the next. While we cannot bring Peter back, we can fill the void by supporting his children. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
