Help Pete Badger Fight ALS!

In 2017, the Badger family received some painful news: Pete had been diagnosed with ALS, after undergoing cancer treatment and a hip replacement within the same year.

If you've ever had the pleasure of meeting Pete, you would know he has been a lifelong baseball fan and a Red Sox supporter.

It is ironic that one of baseball's legends, Lou Gehrig, is remembered for having been diagnosed with this unknown rare disease in the 1930's.  While being honored at Yankee Stadium, Gehrig famously said, "Fans, for the past two weeks you have been reading about a bad break I got.  Yet today I consider myself the luckiest man on the face of the earth."

Pete's attitude is similarly resilient.  He is tirelessly optimistic and a fighter at heart.

His courageous approach to battling ALS reminds us of a baseball player by the same first name – Pete Frates. Though he never got a chance to play in the big leagues, Frates has used his diagnosis to lead an inspiring, worldwide movement to fight ALS. Both “Pete's” have refused to let the disease affect their will and determination to make the best of their time with family and friends, despite physical limitations.

As the disease progresses, Pete will require in-home care and specialized equipment such as a motorized wheel chair. Please join us in helping the Badger family manage the costs required to fight this devastating disease.

We thank you in advance for your financial support, prayers and positive thoughts.
