Peetie Needs Your Help

For the past few days, Peetie has been at the Chicago Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Center due to a very sudden illness. Tests have discovered that she has Immune Mediated Thrombocytopenia. Basically, this is a disorder where her immune system is destroying her blood platelets. While this is a treatable condition, it is very costly to save her life. The treatment she has had and will need in these first few days -- including at least one blood transfusion, steroids, an antibiotic, and intravenous immunoglobulin -- will be the most crucial and costly. However, it is likely that it will save her life, and ongoing maintenance medical expenses will be minimal for the rest of her life. We know that this may seem like a small problem to some, but Peetie is our little girl, and we appreciate your help in saving her life and bringing her home to us.
