Pat Winegar Benefit

After not feeling well for quite some time and a few doctor appointments, a cat scan on October 23 revealed that Pat had a stroke. He had an appointment scheduled to see a neurologist in Sioux Falls but before getting to that appointment, he had another stroke on October 27th.
He was taken by ambulance from the Huron Regional Medical Center to Avera in Sioux Falls. He was transferred to Sanford for surgery because of a blood clot but they were not able to operate because of the location of the blood clot so he was transferred back to Avera for therapy. He remained there until November 29th and is now home but unable to work and will be doing therapy at HRMC 3 times a week.
The Winegars are self employed and have a high deductible and high out of pocket max on their insurance, which was easily met after being in the hospital for a month. The first of January they will start over on their deductible so that will mean more medical expenses.
Pat has a long road ahead of him with therapy and doctor appointments in the coming months.
