Appello di speranza,

il 12 ottobre 2023 la nostra vita è cambiata drasticamente. Giuliano, il mio compagno da 27 anni e padre delle nostre amate gemelline Emily e Victoria di 5 anni, ha avuto uno shock settico e ha rischiato la vita. Come per miracolo, è sopravvissuto, ma per salvargli la vita era necessario amputare tutti quattro gli arti: le gambe sotto il ginocchio e un avambraccio sotto il gomito, mentre l'altro al gomito.

Lavoro a tempo pieno come impiegata e, dopo il lavoro alle 17:00, vado in ospedale per prendermi cura di Giuliano. Le gemelle frequentano l'asilo dalle 8 alle 16 e poi vanno dalla babysitter fino alle 18:30. Prima dell'incidente, Giuliano stava ristrutturando la nostra modesta casetta, acquistata nel 2018, per trasferirci a breve e si occupava delle bimbe quando ero al lavoro. Siamo felici che abbia superato tutto bene e che io riesca a gestire abbastanza bene, le necessità della nostra famiglia nonostante i nonni e i suoceri siano lontani in Alto Adige e noi in Veneto.

Tuttavia, ho una grande preoccupazione, rendere di nuovo autonomo Giuliano. Per questo ci servono delle protesi e lo stato copre solo una parte dei costi. Dovendo ora affrontare un mutuo per terminare i lavori della casetta e renderla accessibile per invalidi e supportando tutte le spese ricorrenti, in aggiunta anche la babysitter, ora necessaria, non ho più abbastanza fondi per coprire le spese delle protesi, che si aggirano intorno ai 50.000€ (i preventivi saranno allegati appena disponibili). Queste protesi darebbero a Giuliano l'autonomia e la possbilita´di lavorare.

Perciò, con il cuore in mano e l'orgoglio messo da parte, vi chiedo se potete darci una mano a ridare l autnonomia a Giuliano e faciltare la vita alla nostra famiglia.

Ein Aufruf der Hoffnung,

ich wende mich an euch in einer äußerst schwierigen Zeit für mich und meine junge Familie. Am 12. Oktober 2023 hat sich unser Leben drastisch verändert. Giuliano, mein Partner seit 27 Jahren und Vater unserer geliebten fünfjährigen Zwillinge Emily und Victoria, welcher sich um die Renovierung unseres kleinen Häuschens (in der Nähe von Vicenza) und um unsere Kinder kümmerte, waehrend ich arbeitete, erlitt einen septischen Schock und war in Lebensgefahr. Durch ein Wunder hat er überlebt, doch um sein Leben zu retten, mussten alle vier Gliedmaßen amputiert werden: die Beine unterhalb des Knies, ein Arm unterhalb des Ellbogens sowie der andere am Ellbogen.

Ich arbeite Vollzeit als Angestellte und gehe nach der Arbeit um 17:00 Uhr ins Krankenhaus, um mich um Giuliano zu kümmern. Die Zwillinge besuchen von 8 bis 16 Uhr den Kindergarten und werden dann bis 18:30 Uhr von einer Babysitterin betreut, da unsere Familien in Südtirol leben und uns somit nicht dabei unterstützen können.

 

Ich habe alles ziemlich gut im Griff, aber eine grosse Sorge für mich sind die Prothesen für Giuliano welche ihm seine Selbständigkeit und Arbeitsfähigkeit zurückgeben könnten. Diese werden aber nur teilweise von staatlicher Seite getragen. Da ich bereits einen Kredit aufnehmen muss, um die Hausrenovierungen abschliessen zu können und es invalidengerecht zu gestalten und ich die Zusatzkosten der Babysitter sowie die laufenden Ausgaben tragen muss, reichen meine finanziellen Mittel nicht mehr aus, um die Kosten für die Prothesen zu decken. Ein Selbstkostenbeitrag von etwa €50.000 (Kostenvoranschläge werden sobald verfügbar nachgereicht) für vier leistungsfähige Prothesen, kann Giuliano zur Selbständigkeit und Arbeitsfähigkeit verhelfen und unserer Familie das Leben gewaltig erleichtern .

 

Infolgedessen bitte ich euch mit Demut und Dankbarkeit, jede mögliche Spende zur Finanzierung der Prothesen in Betracht zu ziehen, um unserer Familie eine Zukunft zu ermöglichen!

Appeal of hope,

on October 12, 2023, our lives changed drastically. Giuliano, my partner for 27 years and the father of our beloved 5-year-old twins, Emily and Victoria, faced septic shock and a life-threatening situation. Miraculously, he survived, but to save his life, it was necessary to amputate all four limbs: both legs below the knee and one forearm below the elbow, while the other at the elbow.

I work full-time as a clerk, and after finishing work at 5:00 PM, I rush to the hospital to care for Giuliano. The twins attend daycare from 8 AM to 4 PM and then stay with a babysitter until 6:30 PM. Before the incident, Giuliano was renovating our modest home, which we bought in 2018, to move in shortly, and he took care of the girls while I was at work. We are grateful that he has come through this ordeal, and I manage quite well to meet our family's needs despite our parents and in-laws being far away in Alto Adige while we are in Veneto.

However, I have a major concern: to make Giuliano independent again. For this, we need prosthetics, and the state covers only a portion of the costs. With the added burden of a mortgage to complete the house renovations for disabled accessibility and support for all recurring expenses, including the now necessary babysitter, I no longer have sufficient funds to cover the cost of the prosthetics, which amount to around €50,000 (estimates will be provided as soon as available). These prosthetics would grant Giuliano autonomy and the ability to work.

Therefore, with a heavy heart and pride set aside, I ask if you could lend us a hand in restoring Giuliano's autonomy and making life easier for our family.
