Hello family, friends, strangers, anyone finding themselves reading this page! Pals for Pam is a group of volunteers who are raising funds to assist Spirit and Truth Ministries, Kitchen Director/Public Relations Coordinator, Pamela L. Carman.
Pam was recently diagnosed with Mantle Cell Lymphoma which is a type of non Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Mantle Cell represents only 6% of Non Hodgkin’s cases.
Pam is currently undergoing treatment at Cooper University Hospital. Her recent stay was Thursday, November 30, 2017 thru Saturday, December 23, 2017. Her future will consist of many hospital stays such as this with hopefully intermittent stays at home. Understandably, she is not able to work therefore she is not eligible for unemployment. Currently, she is applying for disability and veteran’s benefits. Pam loves her profession and is hoping to return to work as soon as she is well enough.
A look at Pam’s background shows us that her life has been dedicated to service. Pam served her country in the Air Force then for the past 18 years, she has served as the Kitchen Director and Public Relations Coordinator for Spirit and Truth Ministries in Vineland, NJ. In that role, she works in conjunction with the community and local churches in an effort to provide hot meals to the low income and homeless population of the City of Vineland. She does this by overseeing the preparation of a free lunch program 5 days per week, fundraising activities to help support the budget of the Ministry, staffing the program with volunteers, producing a regularly published newsletter, submitting accountability reports to the State of New Jersey and many other duties.
Pam lives with her devoted dog, Pearlie and her cats, Tom and Gracie. She has spent her life serving our country and the needy of our community. We are reaching out to you to help us assist Pam at her time of need. She needs our support until she gets back on her feet. One way we are hoping to help her, is by raising money to help cover her basic household expenses for roughly 6-9 months. She estimates the costs to be $900/month to keep her home and utility bills paid. Our goal is $10,000.
