Hi everyone,
As some of you may already know, we lost Archie this week, my father in-law & Mari’s grandfather. He was found in his New York home after suffering a heart attack at 73yrs young.This has caught us at a difficult time financially so I am trying to raise funds to fly my husband to the U.S. I want to make it possible for him to see his father one last time to say goodbye. He will also need to finalise all of Archie’s affairs and pack up his apartment and finally bring Dad home to be with his family. I feel like this is the very least I can try to do for my husband who works so hard every single day to provide for our almost 3yr old daughter and I.
My husband and our whole family has been devastated by this news. My father in law didn’t deserve to be alone in his final moments and we are really struggling with that aspect of this nightmare. He was a special soul that made an effort to build relationships and bonds with everybody around him. He loved his son and granddaughter with all of his heart and was eternally proud of his them. Archie treated me like a daughter from the very first time we spoke on Skype, he would always call and check in on us, sending gifts for his beloved little Mari and always offered his wise words to help you see life in a more optimistic light.
At the time of my father in laws death we were making enquiries to see how we would go about having him immigrate to Australia so that he could live out his days with his family, so this is hitting home pretty hard.
I wish I didn’t have to do this but if anybody is able to make a contribution of any size to help make this possible for him, I would be so seriously grateful or at least share the page, thank you
