Elementary School Needs Renovations
Donation protected
The village of Haro Biqilaal, Ethiopia is a very poor village that has no money to provide running water, school supplies, or protection from the elements for 900 elementary students in the only school in the village.
The small 35-member congregation of Spryfield Christian Community Church (formerly Calvary Baptist Church) in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, responded to a plea for help from a member of the Oromo Ethiopian community who meets in our community church. The pastor of that small congregation, Ejigu Haile, is from that village and was educated there as a child. He recently returned from a visit there and took the video of the school that is included in this campaign.
Where it would require millions of dollars in North America to repair and renovate a school, $15,000 would completely repair and renovate the elementary school in Haro Biqilaal.
It is our hope that together with our supporters and partners to complete the fundraising project early in 2015 with renovations to be completed by the end of 2015.
The fundraising campaign and the renovation project can be monitored on an ongoing basis on Spryfield Christian Community's website: http://www.spryfield-christian-community-church.ca/
Inquiries and further information can be obtained there. Thank you for your generous help in this.
