Hello, My name is Arturs Bareikis and I am chasing my dream of representing Latvia in 2016 in Olympics in the marathon. I give everything that I have towards this dream, even putting my teaching career on hold. Each year I have worked hard to get my marathon time down. Recently I Ran 2:25:16 ( 530 per mile) in Twin cities. Some other accomplishments last two years:
- 2 year Champion Memphis Half Marathon 1:08 and 1:10
- 2nd place St.Louis Marathon in 2011
- Represented Latvia in 2011 European Cross Country championships in Slovenia
- Silver medalist in 3000 meters in Latvia 2011
- Bronze medalist in 2012 10000 meters Latvian Olympics in Latvia
My Goal - Raise money for Trip to Kenya to help me prepare for Sub 2:20 marathon attempt this fall. Olympic qualifier is 2:18 B standard and 2:15 A standard needed in 4 years.
Trip costs - Tickets 1900$
Housing and Meals 3000$
The training camp is 2 months.
Why should you help: I understand that economy is hard and everyone is trying their hardest to chase their dreams. I always try to help everyone I know to achieve their dreams and I like to motivate and see other people succeed in life. If I could I would help anyone towards their dream. In return I help out with anything I can, and always promise to thank everyone for supporting me in any way. I understand that not everyone will donate but I respect all the donations and remember dreams come true you just have to not be afraid to fail.
