Ollie needs Chemotherapy

Ollie is our beautiful, lively 7 year old shih tzu who needs chemotherapy. He recently had a level 3 mast cell tumour removed from his leg, fortunately the cancer has not spread, but he needs a 12 week course of chemotherapy to help remove all trace of the cancerous cells. With the right treatment, his oncologist is confident he can carry on with a full and healthy life. Because of Ollie’s age, his insurance only covers 80% of his his bills. Diagnostic tests (both before and after chemotherapy) and the chemotherapy itself can total well in excess of £8,000. Ollie came home with us from the Dogs Trust in Salisbury just over a year ago. Little is known about his life before the Dogs Trust, but he is a happy, friendly, well behaved little boy, so we think he must have had a caring family who sadly couldn’t look after him anymore. We are so happy to be able to give Ollie his forever home, and were devastated when we found out he has cancer. All we want is the best chance to give Ollie a long, normal and as loving life as we possibly can because he more than deserves it. We are already so grateful to those who have helped in Ollie’s journey so far, including The Dogs Trust in Salisbury, The Pets Practice (who performed his initial surgery), Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists (who will be administering Ollie’s chemotherapy), and “Aunty Gee” at Geeroomers who will be helping us to mange any hair loss as part of his treatment. We are not expecting miracles but if you have any spare pennies that you are willing to donate to help us keep Ollie as happy and healthy as he can be during his treatment, we all thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
