My Study Abroad- Alicante, Spain
Donation protected
Hello family and friends,
For those of you that don't know, this spring I will be spending 5 months in Alicante, Spain to study at the University of Alicante.
During the 20 weeks I will spend abroad with the ALI Abroad Program, I will attend weekly classes, studying grammar, culture (history, art, literature, and local customs), phonetics and conversation as well as International Business classes.
In addition to my courses in Spanish and Business, a local family will host me in their home. I will be completely immersed in Spanish, as the language commitment requires me to speak exclusively in the foreign language.
As apart of my Spanish art class, I will be spending my weekends traveling to different cities in Spain, visiting many famous museums, and studying the work of famous Spaniards. In addition to this art class, I will be participating as a "pilgrim" in a weeklong hike across the famous Camino de Santiago.
Next fall, I will continue my study of Spanish at the University of Missouri, and share my program experiences with the students and teachers at my university. I will also help and encourage my fellow students in their study of Spanish and on their own study abroad journey. I plan to pursue my study of Spanish by earning a minor degree as I recognize this will open many career opportunities for me.
The fees for the Program are around $15,000 without factoring in the cost of travel, food, and incidentals. My parents and I are working hard at making this trip possible for me, but we will need some assistance in doing so. With your generous donations, you can make this adventure possible and I’d be eternally grateful.
You can follow my journey via Facebook and my blog on Tumblr. The link will be posted closer to my departure.
Thank you so much in advance,
Olivia Meyer
