The 5th Annual Ohio Valley Indigenous Music Festival fund raising drive is now underway and we are once again seeking public donations to help meet our goal to cover our expenses. All of the donations that we receive go towards covering our expenses to put on this event, which will be around $7,400 this year and include the following:
1. Performance tent, stage, & chair rental - $1425
2. Travel & hotel expenses for our performers - $1500
3. Sound system, stage lighting, & sound tech - $1900
4. Fri & Sat night off duty police security - $840
5. Venue rental - $360
6. Food Vouchers for ROTC volunteers - $250
7. Award plaques - $125
8. Advertising, flyers, promo cards, road signs, programs - $1000
This event is FREE and OPEN to the public, so our income comes entirely from public donations, vendor booth fees, and a few sponsors.
The Ohio Valley Indigenous Music Festival and will be held on June 5-6, 2021 at Patricia Allyn Park 7266 State Rt. 48 Springboro, OH 45066 and we will be sure to follow any health and safety guidelines that may be in place at the time of the event.
Our featured performers this year include multi national award winners Douglas Blue Feather, Jack Holland & Crazy Flute, and Douglas Thunder Horse along with Adam Riviere, Janice Sunflower, Paul Nelson, and the Miami Valley Flute Circle. There will also be a flute makers showcase featuring performances by our world renowned flute makers and a community drum circle hosted by Adam Riviere on Saturday from 6:30 - 8 pm.
This is a family friendly event featuring award winning Native American style music along with free workshops & presentations. In addition to live music, we will have vendors with Native American style flutes, arts & crafts, and a variety of food vendors.
We couldn't do this without public support, so please donate now. Thank you very much for your donation and support to keep the event, music, and culture alive!
