Dear OHS Alumni,
In the spirit of the holidays, we have created a GoFundMe campaign to help pay off the overdue lunch accounts of students in the Oneonta elementary, middle and high schools. While this may seem like a trivial thing, for students who's accounts are overdue and their families, this could be of great assistance. These accounts are often overdue because children either may not be eligible for free or reduced lunch for a number of reasons or their families send in the forms late and then accrue overdue balances because they do not have enough extra money to give their child(ren) lunch money daily. The district office explained that many of these families are in great need financially and struggle to make ends meet beyond daily living expenses. For these children, it means that they are no longer offered a choice of lunch at school beyond either a cheese or PB&J sandwich until their account is made current.
The Oneonta City School District is aware of this campaign and will receive 100% of all funds raised. Every dollar counts so please consider giving back to our students in need and please share with other OHS alumni. Thank you so much for your generosity and kindness.
