WE ARE IN THE MIDST OF A GLOBAL PANDEMIC. BUSINESSES ARE STRUGGLING. PEOPLE ARE LOSING WORK. SUPERMARKET SHELVES ARE EMPTY.

QEF HELP SOME OF THE HIDDEN VICTIMS OF COVID-19, OUR TRULY AMAZING, YET INCREDIBLY VULNERABLE RESIDENTS AND CLIENTS, USING OUR SERVICES 24/7, 365 DAYS A YEAR!

My name is Holly and I am one of the nurses working at QEF’s Neuro Rehabilitation Service in Surrey. On a normal day, I would spend much of my time working one to one with people who have suffered an acquired brain injury following a stroke, accident or illness. As the impact of COVID-19 takes its hold, this is having a knock-on effect and it has now become a critical time for QEF.

Much of QEF is in lock-down, apart from essential staff (like me). Non-essential visitors such as family and friends are no longer allowed to visit in order to protect our vulnerable clients and residents.

QEF relies on voluntary income to allow people like me, a neuro rehabilitation nurse, our physios and other therapists to go above and beyond to care for our clients and residents. COVID-19 has already had a significant impact on fundraising activities and without this income QEF face an immediate gap in vital funding to support people that rely on us 24/7 for expert care.

I love my job and I will do whatever it takes to carry on as normal for our incredible clients who are relying on us to rehabilitate and care for them, but this is now at risk due to COVID-19. QEF face a very uncertain immediate future and have estimated an approximate 20% downturn in voluntary income as a result of having to cancel events and other vital fundraising activity during this time.

PLEASE JOIN ME in supporting the invaluable and wonderful work QEF does to support the thousands of children and adults each year at this unprecedented and critical time.

QEF are not fortunate enough to have reserves that they can call upon in circumstances like this, and as a result this is having a very immediate impact on the whole charity.

We don't know how COVID-19 is going to end up so I am appealing to you to help keep us going, so we can keep our residents and clients safe and happy during this exceptionally challenging time.

Please give £10 if you can, but if you can't afford to donate - sharing it on social media is free and just as valuable to us.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Holly x
