BE Mader's Miracle

Nick (age 38) was diagnosed with cancer on 11/21/17 & within that oncologist visit, the consulting urologist told Nick he needed surgery immediately. The next day, 11/22/17, Nick underwent surgery. The surgery went well, but on day 4 of recovery, he was experiencing so much excruciating back & abdominal pain that his wife, Shara, rushed him to the emergency room. After new scans, Nick was told his cancer had spread to his abdomen & left lung. He was admitted to the hospital immediately, where they spent four days trying to get his pain under control. Shortly after, on 12/4/17, Nick began chemotherapy.

Nick is a warrior! After experiencing a 17-month heartbreaking period of unemployment, he found a beautiful new job. He & Shara were just getting their short-term emergency fund back into place when Nick was diagnosed. Needless to say, that emergency fund & rent money went to doctor's visits, mri's, expensive pharmacy drugs, surgery, etc. They were quite discouraged to learn of the upfront costs for treatment even with a quality insurance plan!

Nick & Shara touched our lives several years back when they were leading Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University (FPU) class at Christ Fellowship. Selflessly giving their time to teaching others about the freedom found in properly managing money, these two walk the walk! They have taught nine FPU courses & helped over 500 people in partial or complete financial freedom. They are an inspiration to many as they are so diligent in dealing with their personal finances & they are committed to the plan that they are working, but right now, these medical expenses are top priority.

The cost is great & extremely unexpected. But Nick will not be fighting alone. We are the church & I truly believe that as God's hands & feet, together we will wipe out all medical expenses for this sweet couple.

Currently his doctor is recommending approximately 3-4 months of treatments. At $600 for each treatment (after insurance), this really adds up! Other expenses include prescription drugs, office co-pays, etc. The payment is expected upfront at each appointment so please pray & consider what your financial gift might be. Every gift matters, whether great or small, if everyone who reads this gives, we will certainly wipe it out! Please lift Nick up to our Heavenly Father who is THE HEALER. Nick & Shara are standing in FAITH believing in God's miracles. Let's show them how much we love & care for them, standing with them firm in our faith that God is in control. They do not have to carry this burden. Let's wrap our arms around them, lift their burdens from them & give it all up to God.
