PLNU to PNG & Manila -Jordan

Tax deductible
Hi, my name is Jordan Thompson. This coming January, I will be serving at the Kids International Ministries (KIM) in Manila, Philippines and the Nazarene Hospital at Kudjip in the Highlands of Papua New Guinea. With medical school quickly approaching, I have the unique opportunity to enter one of the least explored and most culturally diverse countries in the world, Papua New Guinea. With a population of 7 million and over 800 listed languages, I am excited to be a part of an organization that helps provide medical care for those who have limited access. In addition, Manila, Philippines is home to over 200,000 street kids. I have grown up with a love for teaching and working with children; KIM is an awesome opportunity to help provide health & dental care, education, and recreational activities for these children. I am excited to be a part of what the Holy Spirit is doing on the other side of the globe.

In 2008, my life was radically changed by God and for God during a service trip to Tijuana, Mexico. Since that pivotal moment, my passions have sent me to some the most impoverished areas in the world including Uganda and Haiti to share the gospel.

I realized quickly that for me to truly be the hands and feet of the Jesus Christ I believe in and to share his eternal and beautiful love, I need to pursue medicine. Now almost 7 years later and finishing up a degree in Biology-Chemistry at Point Loma Nazarene University, medical school has become a reality. I believe that God does work all around us but I also know that he calls some to sacrifice much of their life to serve others in remote places throughout the Earth.
In fact, Matthew 28:19 says "Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."

My dream is to practice medicine in third world countries. This opportunity to take part of a genuine mission community in PNG and to work with children in Manila will be invaluable in my preparations for medical missions.
However, at this point I can't do it alone. With a drained bank account from my undergraduate studies and the impending debt approaching from medical school, I'm looking into every opportunity to raise the funds necessary to go.

The Facebook page and pending blog will be my way of sharing pictures and moments with my friends and family throughout my experience. In the mean time, if you are willing to help in funding my trip I am truly appreciative. Whether, it's a dollar or a hundred, you are taking a stance in partnering with me and I am extremely grateful. Also, all donations are tax deductible through the "Nazarene Hospital Foundation."

Whether or not you are able to give financially, what I am in need of most is prayers!

Thank you so much and I look forward to sharing this once in a lifetime experience with you.
