Never Give Up Scholarship Fund

My 17 year old daughter, Amanda June Foden, born May 23, 1993 passed away on October 23, 2012. She was diagnosed in February of 2011 with a very rare form of Germ cell cancer that took on the characteristics of PNET, a very aggressive form of brain cancer. When diagnosed she was already at stage 4. Throughout this very short and difficult time, Amanda Never Gave Up! She always maintained her humor and positive outlook. For example, on the way home from the doctors office after receiving the initial news that she had cancer (yet to know what kind exactly), the tears had momentarily dried up, she said to her dad and I, "Well there is a bright side. I'll loose weight". Amanda found out mid September that her cancer was terminal. Again, after the tears momentarily dried up, Amanda turned to me and said mom, let every one know to live life to the fullest because it is short. laugh a lot and above all stay true to yourself.

Well, I will always remember her words when I am chasing my dream. One of those dreams is for her 7 year old brother to be sitting at his High School Graduation and hear his sister's name as the Never Give Up scholarship is being awarded to a Mascoma graduate. This is one way that Amanda can be with her brother when he graduates. I am hoping to be able to give a $1,000.00 scholarship each year.
