Nellie's Neonatal Fund

Spende geschützt
We will be running the half marathon at Hampton Court Palace on the 29th of March 2015 to raise money for the neonatal ward at the UCH and the research into babies born with brain damage. For those of you who don't know Please read Nellies story below.

Nellie was born in October by emergency c-section after I was monitored and we lost her heartbeat, she was born with the umbilical cord wrapped twice round her neck and was unable to breath and had been starved of oxygen, she was very distressed and had swallowed and inhaled a lot of meconium. The doctors noticed she was suffering with seizures which they were at first unable to control, scans and an MRI confirmed she had suffered a stroke, she was put into a coma and a induced state of hypothermia to protect her brain. She improved on a daily basis but suffered heart failure 10 days later which they think was caused by shock. The UCH charity provided hotel accommodation next to the hospital so Jack and I could be as close as possible when things were at there worst. Purely down to the fantastic care and research at the UCH Nellie is is now home and it pretty much looks like she will live a perfectly normal life with no signs that she ever suffered a stroke and has scarring on her brain. Please help me raise money to continue funding the amazing care Nellie and other neonatal babies receive. And also the research into babies born with brain damage, which without we would have been facing a very different situation.
