Get Jackson Musicians to NEMC!

As many of you know, I recently returned to New England Music Camp to work full time as an Assistant to the Directors. Part of my job is to recruit prospective musicians to NEMC. Spread the magic if you will.
Sometimes it is not that simple. For those of you who don't know about Jackson, Michigan, this is where current faculty member Lisa Tarzia has been teaching, until recently, and she has tried desperately to get these kids out to camp. These are talented musicians, thirsting for the opportunity to learn.
Year in and year out, Lisa has been able to get a couple campers, but after my visit out there this fall....we have TEN PROSPECTIVE CAMPERS who REALLY want to make it to NEMC this summer. However, financially, these are students who do not have the means to come to camp on their own. Amazingly, each student has started fundraising efforts, but these funds, along with funds from financial aid, just won't be enough to cover the cost of coming to camp. I was so deeply moved when I visited Jackson and I saw how much this experience could, and will, change these kids lives. So...I decided I wanted to take this a step further.
I have set a goal to raise $15,000 to help each of these students get to camp. Between what I raise, what they fundraise on their own, and what we are able to give them from scholarship and financial aid, there is no reason these ten students won't get to have the opportunity to attend this amazing place. This is a opportunity to give someone a chance to live the NEMC magic, who might otherwise never have the chance to leave Michigan.
So my friends, I come to you asking for your help in raising these funds. I am not asking you for $10,000, but to simply think about donating $100 or $50 or $25 or whatever you can afford to give at this time....that money will go a long way. It will cover tuition costs, help with travel, and maybe even get them an extra lesson. Think about the impact your dollars will have directly on a young musician's life!
