Help Alex Recover

On Sunday, June 16, 2019 at 1pm Nehemias  “Alex” Olmedo was securing his daughter in the backseat of his car in the parking lot of 24 Hour Fitness at 3701 Louisiana St. when a masked man in a wheelchair approached him and shot him twice from behind. He was shot once in the torso and once in his side. Alex managed to tackle the shooter while critically injured to protect his daughter. Police later arrested the shooter. 

We are thankful that Alex is now in stable condition but he remains in the hospital after undergoing many hours of surgery. He will likely need extensive physical therapy and more procedures as one of the bullets is still lodged in his pelvis. Any monetary support would be used to help cover medical expenses as a result of this tragedy.  Most important, please keep Alex and his family in your thoughts and prayers as he begins a long road to recovery.
