To increase public awareness of the significant contributions of African-Americans in creating a diversified American theatrical tradition.
To encourage and facilitate a culturally diverse and all-inclusive America by using theatre to teach, criticize, comment and model.
To provide a nurturing working environment for writers and artistic collaborators through supporting the commissioning, development, presentation and documentation of new scripts.
To educate audiences by creating bridges of understanding between people of all cultural backgrounds in this society and the world.
We have been producing Theatre since 2009 and the initial seed money was put up by one individual. Since our first show, we have used the proceeds from the previous show to fund the next one. We often have to add to the ticket proceeds and audience contributions in order to stay solvent.
We have kept our ticket prices extremely low because we believe that Theatre is for everyone, not just the economically privileged.
We have an opportunity to get our 501c3 certification and this will allows to solicit tax deductible donations from the general public and will also allow us to apply for grants and other Arts funding.
Your donation will help us to finally achieve 501c3 status and ensure that we will keep producing great theatre at great prices. Won't you please help us to keep the power of Theatre accessible?
