Imagine, a few days ago you gave birth and now you leave the hospital without your baby! Your baby was born early or needs extensive care in NICU (Noenatal Intensive Care) while you finish recovery at home. There are times when a parent cannot be present. How reassuring would it be to securely login and see their baby? Moms, imagine your maternity leave is over and you have to return to work while baby is still being cared for in NICU. Dads, imagine, you have to return to work while baby is in NICU for weeks/months.
We lived these scenarios with our babies. It was heart-aching to leave them in the hospital as fragile preemies. As newborns it's natural to be connected to your baby continuously, but being in NICU is a different scenario. You have to leave them in the care of remarkable nurses and doctors. We did not have a way to connect with them, but NOW there is!
Help us help other NICU families. Help fund the Novant Health #CribCamsConnect project. We want to equip 56 NICU incubators/cribs with Crib Cams. An estimated $150,000 effort will take all of us to make this come to life. A donation of any amount is appreciated to help reach our goal. Imagine the parent who has to return home living hours from the specialized NICU Hospital. They often have other children to care for while their baby remains in the NICU for months. What a precious relief it would be to see them and possibly speak to them through a Crib Cam. NICU Crib Cams will bridge the boundaries of time and distance and promote vital bonding between parent and baby. Please be part of making this project come to life for future patients. Our first goal date is August 11, 2014. Any amount is appreciated. This is our way of thanking Novant for all of the care and life-sustaining treatments they gave our Myers Miracles Triplets.
