Mother Grimm: Debut Album Project

Hi!
Jennifer Grimm here and I'm embarking on a new rebranding journey into the world of Mother Grimm.

Mother Grimm "For The Record" will be an album of new R&B/Jazz music with lyrics acknowledging the essences and nuances of loving, losing, giving, and trying while landing on some grooves that'll make you dance in your kitchen while making dinner or in your driver's seat as you run the kids all around town.

As a mother of two myself, I think that the world of mothers/parents is largely ignored by the music business and I'm here to represent the hard-working and wholly imperfect women/parents that are doing their best with the few hours given to us each day. With the images of Mother Grimm, there will be no impossible hard bodies, no pictures of an immaculate household, and no pretending to have perfectly behaved children.

I'm here to let you know that I know you are there. I'll sing about us in my music and I'll continue to write and sing and laugh and cry about all of it with you as we take this journey of Motherhood and Adulthood together.

Artists involved: Jennifer Grimm producer and vocals, Tommy Barbarella (of Prince's New Power Generation) co-producer and keyboards, Kenni Holmen (of Prince's Hornheads) saxophone, Jimmy Anton (of Jonny Lang's latest tour) bass, Greg Schutte (of international tours with multiple artists) drums, Joe Cruz guitar, Dave Beattie guitar, Sue Orfield saxophone, and more.

So much goes in to making a great record. Expenses for recording an album of music these days include (but are certainly not limited to):
Tracking each song which involves
•co-producer to help shape the overall sound of each song
•engineer to record each musician
•musicians to play all the instruments
•studio time per hour for the space and the equipment
Once all of the parts of all of the songs have been recorded, then there is
•mixing of all the instruments on all of the songs to be sure they are all able to be correctly heard
•mastering of the entire album to be sure that each song is consistently level throughout the record
Separate from the music, making an album also includes
•artwork and graphic design for the packaging and cover
•duplicating/printing the CDs
•printing download cards/codes
•administrative work for setting up all music for digital distribution (iTunes/Spotify/etc)
•creating a CD release concert
•renting/setting up venue for CD release concert
•hiring musicians for the CD release concert
and more and more.....including crowdfunding platform percentage, management team expenses, "keeping the talent happy" extras, making an initial video for first release, etc.
