For those who haven't heard, Michelle was diagnosed with bile duct cancer last month and has been very sick. She's in the fight of her life and I am asking for your prayers.
After suffering from what she thought was heartburn for several months, she went to the doctor when discomfort turned into pain. An ultrasound was ordered to check for gall stones but instead revealed a mass on her liver. A liver biopsy confirmed cancer and she was told that the lesion on her liver was not the primary source of cancer. After numerous other procedures and tests to find the source of the cancer, a PET scan finally confirmed it was bile duct cancer that had spread to her liver.
Michelle has been unable to work for the past month and it is uncertain when she will be able to return to work. She recently had a PICC line put in place to provide her body with nutrients so she can be as strong as possible before surgery. Michelle is scheduled for surgery on Tuesday, November 26th to remove the lesion which requires removing ¾ of her liver. Please pray all goes well. She'll need a blood transfusion and will have an incision up her side and across her abdomen. She'll be in the hospital for at least 10 days, followed by a stay in transitional care for an uncertain length of time. Once strong enough, she'll undergo approximately six months of chemotherapy.
Michelle is an amazing single mom of two amazing kids. Jordan (17) is a senior and Ryan (12) is in 7th grade. Thankfully, she is also surrounded by loving family and friends to help support her emotionally and physically.
