Michelle is a strong, healthy 23 year old, who is aspiring to go to graduate school in order become a physical therapist. She has wanted to be a physical therapist for her entire life because her passion is helping others.
Unfortunately, these plans have been delayed by recent medical events. On Tuesday, March 6, 2018, Michelle suffered a stroke. During the medical stay so far it has been revealed that she also has a blood infection whose origin is unknown, two aneurysms from the stroke, and an echo-cardiogram that revealed a faulty heart valve with bacteria in the valve. The only affects from the stroke is some temporary blurred vision in one eye.
In order to fix Michelle's heart, they must first cure the blood infection. Once this is cured then they need to ensure there are no more aneurysms. Finally, she will then be able have open heart surgery to correct the valve. The heart surgery will be functionable for 7-10 years, then she will require another that will hopefully last the rest of her life.
Michelle is approaching her recovery like a champ. She said "What's a better way to get ready for medical school than to get first hand experience in a hospital and then doing physical therapy to recover.
This "first hand" experience, unfortunately, is not cheap. The $500,000 we are asking for is just a general number because we do not know what the full cost of treatmeant, surgery, and the recovery process will be.
Any financial donation would be Beyond Appreciated and will be put towards her treatment and recovery.
