Michael Fidalgo's Kidney Transplant

Donation protected
On December 20th, Michael (a NYC actor, friend, colleague and family to many) checked himself into a NYC hospital after an urgent call from his doctor. He soon found out that not one, but both his kidneys were operating at 5% and getting closer and closer to becoming nothing but scar tissue.

Being only 28 years old, both Michael and his doctors were puzzled at how something this extreme could happen to a young and healthy man.

Coming from California and with both his roommates out of state with their families for the holidays, he had limited resources for support in this scary and confusing period. Fortunately a close friend and colleague was by his side and his mom was able to find a cross-country flight the next morning to be with him.

Although the main cause of these events were still unknown, it was definite that Michael would be needing a kidney transplant. Every member of his family offered to get tested to be a donor, however if none are a match, Michael will be on dialysis until a kidney becomes available.

Pursuing his acting dreams in New York City, Michael is an Off-Broadway actor, he’s toured throughout the tristate area with his talents, even has his hand in film and modeling. For any Apple fans out there, you may recognize him from the iPhone 7 commercial where he and his roommate portrayed the first gay couple on a major Apple campaign.

As of today, Michael is home with his family in Fresno, CA, under medical care and awaiting donor test results from his family members and preparing himself to start the process of dialysis within the next week if no donor can be found. We’ve set up this fund to alleviate the costs of this entire process and hopefully lift some of the stresses from Michael and his family who’ve all put their lives on hold for their loved one.

All money raised here will go directly to medical bills and any other unanticipated costs relating to Michael’s condition.

We are grateful for any donation you can make. Michael is a sweet and creative mind who has much to offer the world and deserves to have as much of this burden lifted from him as possible.
