Bring Me Back to the Bolshoi!
Привет y'all!
I've made this page to ask for your support for one
of the most amazing opportunities of a life time:. For those of you who do not
know me, my name is Michael Mengden. I
am currently a junior in high school at the American School and I am from
Houston, Texas. But more notably, I am
one of five children with a passion for classical ballet. I have always dreamed of dancing for the rest
of my life. In order to fulfill my dreams, I just completed my 6 week audition
at the famous Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow.
After completing the audition and returning home, I got the email that
said I was accepted! I couldn't believe it! My dream comes true! All the years and hard work have paid off, so
far. After being in Moscow, I can't wait
to return to continue the rigorous Russian training to become a professional
dancer. My dream is quickly becoming a
reality but there is one last obstacle, you know the expenses. In order to fulfill my dream I am using every
possible avenue available to me. The
yearly tuition, room and board is $13,500; roundtrip airfare is $2,500.00, and
other incidentals can quickly add up.
I am reaching out to my friends and family on the
World Wide Web for support. I'm asking
for YOUR HELP! Any donation to help
offset these costs would be a true blessing of your generosity. However, if you're unable to donate, I would
truly appreciate a message on facebook, an email or a prayer. Any kind of help is greatly appreciated more
than you will ever know.
If you still have any hesitations about donating,
remember that dance is an expression of the soul. I would be dancing in the
same place where many great dancers have trained. To walk in those hallways at
the academy every single day would be an honor in itself. In the future through my experiences and
knowledge, I will be able to impart on to the next generation the traditions in
the art of classical ballet. The cultural experience in Russia as U.S.
Ambassador McFaul quotes: "I can't stress enough how important these
exchanges are in building a strong relationship between our countries... But
indirectly, they also help to undermine stereotypes." We all know that life is a stage so with your
help; I can dance my part. With your
generosity, I hope to inspire many others to pursue their dreams as I am
pursuing my lifelong passion for dance.
I will never be able to repay you for your kindness,
though I promise to keep in touch with you through facebook and emails. I will start a blog so that everyone can keep
up with me in Moscow during my study at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy. If you have any questions at all PLEASE
e-mail me at: [email redacted].
I thank God for all I have been given, "Blessed is the man whose help is from
God: in his heart he hath disposed to ascend by steps."
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me and
thank you for your generosity.
Да благоÑловит Бог,
Michael
