For Dad...Gas, Bills, and Hotel Stays

After losing our precious mother to a tragic accident in October of last year, our family has once again been faced with one of life's great challenges; Cancer. My dad was diagnosed with throat cancer in February of this year. He had a very successful surgery in March, and continues to have daily radiation to be sure they found it all. His prognosis is amazingly positive given the nature of this type of cancer, but it continues to be a struggle for my siblings and I to provide for his financial needs.

He is currently making daily trips to Carle Hospital which is about 80 miles from his home, round trip. The gas expenses alone are well over $100.00 per week. We are looking into other options such as extended stay hotel rooms in the Champaign area to cut down on the financial and physical strain of those daily trips. As the treatments progress, he will need more in-home care, which will mean that my siblings and I will need to be able to take the necessary time from our jobs in order to provide that care. Any support, in any amount, would greatly help our family be able to walk through this very tough time with the focus on his recovery rather than worrying about how to keep the utilities on.

We continue to believe for a full and miraculous recovery; we continue to walk by faith and not by sight; we are grateful every day for the love and strength we receive from our family and friends! Thank you for your prayers and support!
