Arbella and Melinda's Gishru Trip

We are two students in the Central Valley of California of Assyrian descent.  We are the people of ancient Mesopotamia--the cradle of civilization and the birthplace of many inventions such as writing, mathematics, and law.  The money you donate will go toward helping us pay for our trip to visit our ancient homeland of Beth Nahrain (present day Iraq). We will be visiting ancient sites (as in the photo), schools that teach curriculum in our language, and see firsthand how our people are surviving persecution.  We will be there for 2 1/2 weeks (March 28, 2013 - April 15, 2013 recording our experience through photos and videos.  When we return we will do a presentation to give back to our community.
