I foolishly chose to give up singing in the late 1990’s due to unfortunate circumstances. As fate would have it, I was given the chance to revisit music by joining a band in 2001, where I met my husband, Christian Davidson. Excited to be back in the music scene, I played in cover bands from 2001 until 2007. During that time, I studied voice with the amazing Jan Smith of Jan Smith Studios in Atlanta, GA. She taught me so much about singing, writing and recording. In 2007, I was given the awesome opportunity by my Angel on earth, Barry Cown, to move to Nashville, TN to fully pursue my career in music as a singer. It was one of the hardest things I ever did – I sold my condo and quit my job at IBM. The experience was life-changing, to say the least. There, I recorded an album that I am very proud of: "Dare To Live" while studying with Renee Grant Williams to better hone my vocal skills.
I also met some of the best friends of my life, who are still very dear to me today. Recently, we formed a tribute band, “Madam Company,” which pays homage to Bad Company, Free, and Paul Rodgers. It is truly an honor to be immersed in such legendary music!
It is this path in my musical journey that lead me to Lucy Piller of All Right Now Entertainment . She has generously offered to manage Madam Company and we are currently in the beginning phases of positioning ourselves for success, under Lucy’s very capable direction. I am so very grateful for her efforts and I believe it was no accident that we crossed paths.
Lucy is from the UK and has many friends and connections there; in the music industry and otherwise. She has approached me about embarking on a UK promotional tour for Melanie Denard as a singer. Of course, I’m flattered, and as this is an opportunity of a lifetime, without hesitation, I have committed to this venture.
I am thrilled to share the news that besides having Lucy Piller with me for the tour serving as my management, I will have the great Muddy Manninen, former guitar player of the iconic 70’s band Wishbone Ash, accompanying me on guitar for all the shows and various promotional appearances, including some studio recordings. He has recently released an exceptional solo album, “The Long Player,” and it’s well worth checking out.
Therefore, I am creating a Go Fund Me campaign and am asking for your help. As you can imagine, such an undertaking is an expensive one. The two-week trip (October 3-17) will include several shows and various other efforts to support this tour (i.e., radio interviews, etc.). I will keep everyone posted along the way and look forward to providing frequent updates and links for you to follow along as I take this enthralling journey!
I want to send a sincere message of gratitude to my fans. You humble me and the love and encouragement you have shown me over the years means the world to me. Music is the core of my being; my essence. I always say…I didn’t choose music, it chose me. Now I am presented with this extraordinary opportunity. The reason may be unclear, but I must walk through this door…after all, nothing ventured, nothing gained, right? I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason.
Please help me make this dream my waking reality. Any contribution, no matter how big or small will make a difference. The support you provide is immensely appreciated and I thank you in advance!
