Mary Lane Album Fund

Mary Lane has been writing her second album for over 20 years and now she asks for your support to help her share this special body of work with the world. 

Mary Lane’s soulful vocals have been a staple on the West Side Chicago blues circuit for more than sixty years. Mary’s 82nd birthday is just around the corner on November 23, 2017 and she would love to share her album with the world as soon as possible. Her husband and band-mate, Jeffrey, suffered a serious stroke this past summer. It’s been a very difficult time for Mary. She and Jeffrey need our support more than ever.

Mary needs your help to cover the cost to finish the record. She has partnered with Grammy Award winning producer Jim Tullio in what she believes will be her best and most important album.

Funds will cover final production, mastering, pressing and promotion costs.

Mary’s life and her music have had an incredible journey. After honing her vocal skills in the local juke
joints of the Arkansas Delta with Howlin’ Wolf, Robert Nighthawk, Little Junior Parker and James Cotton,
Mary left the only home she knew in 1953 and traveled with her trusted friend, Howlin’ Wolf, to chase
their musical dreams to Chicago. It didn’t take long for Mary to share her incredible talents in
performances with Buddy Guy, Junior Wells and Elmore James. Those friendships and partnerships spanned decades and Mary has been pouring her heart into her music ever since.
