Marvetta's Homegoing Service
Donation protected
On Friday, May 13, 2016, God called our beloved mother Marvetta Williams home.
After she was diagnosed with a rare, aggressive form of Uterine Cancer in December of 2015, our lives quickly began to change. The battle began with a surgery in January of 2016, of which the goal was to remove the cancer cells from her uterus and appendix. However, unfortunately during the procedure the doctor realized that the cancer spread to her bowels. As a result he implemented a plan of care which involved 6 rounds of chemotherapy, of which she was only able to receive 3.
When she went in for her third treatment, she was admitted into the hospital after not being healthy enough to receive it. Sadly after this her health began to deteriorate quickly, and she never left the hospital.
This was completely unexpected as we were originally led to believe by doctors that the treatment was working, when it was not.
To make matters worse, we recently discovered our mother's insurance policy had lapsed. We were not aware until we had to begin to make those difficult calls.
As she was a faithful servant of God, we still want to be able to give her a proper homegoing service. In lieu of flowers we humbly request assistance with funeral expenses, as this was very sudden and unexpected. No amount is too small.
Due to services being held Saturday May 21, 2016, we would appreciate any donations before Wednesday May 18th. However, any and all donations will be appreciated.
We also appreciate all of the love and prayers that have been extended to our family at this difficult time.
