Markthor passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2015.
His story is below:
Markthor is battling an aggresive form of melanoma (skin cancer). He has already endured 2 surgeries (one to remove a large tumor on his torso and another one to remove a tumor on his brain). He is has just begun a 9-month chemotherapy treatment. Mark's main job is to rest, drink lots of fluids, eat a prescribed diet, and take care of his body, mind, and spirit.Ã"š
Mark and Selma are working hard to keep their beautiful farm running (an especially difficult task during lambing season). Selma is taking care of Mark, AND 20+ sheep (and lambs!), 8 baby pigs, lots of chickens and baby chicks, 2 eldery dogs, 1 cat, and a llama! She is also working very hard to take her Flying Cow Creamery to the next level - the demand for her yogurt is high and she needs to spend her energy helping it grow. The support of the their family and friends has been incredible. What would be even more incredible during this time is to raise money for their medical bills (and deductibles), travel costs and possible trial drug treatments. Mark and Selma live a beautifulÃ"š
and simple life, but their financial situation has been deeply complicated by this disease. Please help in any way you can.
