At the age of 44 Marcela, my cousin, was living a normal life – a wife of 15 years to her beloved husband, and mother caring for their 14 year old daughter.
All the happiness fell into the background when test results from a simple mammogram on January 24 of 2019 revealed tumors in Marcela’s breast. It was cancer.
The whole family and community banded together holding fundraisers to help pay for the very expensive treatments. Despite the generous support and insurance funds, the cancer had not regressed and thus it was determined that she must undergo surgery. Without further money from insurance and still needing to pay for 12 rounds of chemotherapy and the surgery, Marcela and her family are asking for help. They need your help to ensure Marcela – a loving, vivacious wife and mother- can get the much needed surgery that will give her a chance to return to the happiness and joy of her life before receiving the devastating diagnosis.
The $15,000 will go towards the surgery that is scheduled for August 31st of 2019 and is very expensive- alone costing $12,000- and the remainder to cover the costs of the 12 remaining rounds of chemotherapy, hospitalization and medications.
