Helping Mg Runners to Marathon Greatness

Mt Gleason Runners is a middle school running team created under the auspices of Students Run LA that helps children strive to be their best physically, emotionally, and socially. SRLA helps our coaches train and prepare our 120 runners to traverse the 26.2 miles of the Los Angeles Marathon. SRLA generously provides students with training t-shirts, marathon uniforms, entry fees, transportation to the races,and two pairs of running shoes. This year our 60 children, many of whom come from low income families, will need to be supported with supplements, sports drinks, running equipment and nutrition for the multiple races we run in addition to our big day on March 8, 2020!! Since we believe that running daily throughout the year increases the likelihood that children will stay motivated ,maintain healthy lifestyles,and avoid the pitfalls of inactivity, we choose to run a year round program. As a result, we have additional needs outside of the marathon season. These needs are both motivational as well as practical, as sports equipment and consumable products are utilized to help the children make it through a rigorous, challenging, and demanding year round program. Please help our children reach their potential, be a part of their success, and know that when they cross that finish line, so do you,because you played an important role in this life changing achievement.
