The OPP have released a statement on March 30 at 2:17am with more detail. See below:

(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County Detachment is currently investigating a motor vehicle collision at a Highway 6, Caledonia, Haldimand County, Ontario address.

On Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at approximately 9:04 p.m., OPP, Six Nations Police, Haldimand County Fire Services, Six Nations Fire Services and Hadlimand County Paramedics responded to a motor vehicle collision involving two (2) vehicles.

Through the course of investigation, it has been determined that a passenger van being operated by a 27-year-old male of Mississauga of The New Credit First Nation along with seven (7) youths varying in age were travelling southbound on Highway 6. A motor vehicle being operated by a 21-year-old male of Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation Territories was travelling northbound when the driver collided head-on with the southbound vehicle.

As a result, a 12-year-old female and 14-year-old female, both of Mississauga of The New Credit First Nation and the 21-year-old male who was travelling northbound, suffered serious life threatening injuries and were pronounced deceased on the scene.

Technical Traffic Collision Investigators are assisting with the investigation.

Identity of the deceased's is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Haldimand-Norfolk Victim Services have been contacted.

Highway 6 is closed between Fourth Line and Fifth Line. It is anticipated that the roadway will remain closed for the next 8 hours to allow for further investigation."
