Help Lyzah's Recovery with Medical Supplies

Donation protected
My sister, 16-year-old Lyzah Hennig, was a normal, high school girl, like any other, until tragedy struck.

Lyzah suffered a severe asthma attack - her inhalers, medications, and nebulizer were not enough to rescue her. She suffered from cardiac arrest and was unresponsive for hours. Her brain was severely damaged as a result of the trauma, and she has lost most of her normal functions.

My brother, a paramedic, performed CPR on an unresponsive Lyzah on her way to the hospital. This occurred during the beginning of the pandemic, and the hospital was not equipped to handle Lyzah's situation. She was transferred to a different hospital and didn't receive the care she so desperately needed for hours. I met with my broken, desperate family. I could not bear to see Lyzah in that state - completely unresponsive and pale. Seeing the tears run from my mother and father's eyes, seeing them kneel in prayer and plead with God for Lyzah's recovery, was a life-changing experience.

Lyzah has severe brain damage, which has affected her ability to function normally. She cannot move, swallow, or speak. Her road to recovery will be long and hard, but everyone in my family remains committed to helping Lyzah.

Lyzah has shown great progress since the beginning of her recovery. She is able to track things with her eyes, she is able to laugh, and she is able to express her discontent with parts of her routine she doesn't like. My mom recently told me a story of Lyzah pretending to sleep in order to try to avoid physical therapy, and laughing about it later. My parents describe her progress as a miracle, but it will be many years until she is better.

The money from this fundraiser will be used to install a stairlift in my parents' home. She currently cannot move and carrying her upstairs is risky. Lyzah's friends and supporters from her church, the Refiner's Fire Ministry, generously remodeled her 2nd-floor bedroom to accommodate Lyzah's condition. My parents anticipate medical bills to pile up, but they will do whatever is needed to make sure Lyzah gets better. Lyzah is returning home the last week of July, and any support we can receive towards purchasing the stairlift would be a great help.  Thank you for your support!
